Brief information about the exam
The Union Public Service Commission conducts the Combined Defence Services Examination (UPSC CDS Examination(I) 2024) to recruit Commissioned Officers in the Indian Military Academy, Officers Training Academy, Indian Naval Academy, and Indian Air Force Academy.
The Notification for the examination is usually released in the months of December and May, and the examinations are conducted in April and September respectively.
Only unmarried graduates are eligible to sit for the exam. The examination is conducted twice a year. Successful candidates are admitted into the respective Academies after an interview conducted by the Services Selection Board (SSB).

- SC / ST / Female : 0/- (Exempted)
- By remitting the money in any Branch of SBI by cash, by using Visa/Master/Rupay Credit/Debit Card/UPI Payment, or by using the internet banking facility of any Bank.
Age Limits and Marital Status
(i) For IMA—Unmarried male candidates born not earlier than 2nd January, 2001 and not later than 1st January, 2006 only are eligible.
(ii) For Indian Naval Academy—Unmarried male candidates born not earlier than 2nd January, 2001 and not later than 1st January, 2006 only are eligible.
(iii) For Air Force Academy— Unmarried male candidates born not earlier than 2nd January, 2001 and not later than 1st January, 2005.

How to Fill UPSC CDS Examination(I) 2024 Online Form
- Candidates are required to apply online by using the website upsconline.nic.in It is essential for the applicant to register himself/herself first at the One Time Registration (OTR) platform, available on the Commission’s website, and then proceed to fill up the online application for the examination.
- OTR has to be registered only once in a lifetime. This can be done anytime throughout the year. If the candidate is already registered, he/she can proceed straightway to filling up the online application for the examination.
